March 3rd, 2021 - The Zappos All Hands Conference

March 3rd, 12:00 PM — I’m surrounded by one of the greatest work and culture communities ever! Where people are actually happy to see each other and engage in fun activities. This community is so close-knit together, these people can talk about anything from mayo to the latest advancements in AI. And to actually see this engaging discussion in action, I was blown away. This opportunity was super awesome and I got to know a couple of people from the conference! We were talking about some of our main focuses in technology and some of the projects that we had actually been working on. We actually had the opportunity to go into breakout rooms on Hopin and discussed with some people at Zappos and got to know their stories and how awesome the Zappos community is!

What I learned

One thing that I learned throughout the whole experience was that it’s important to network and to get to know other people. You will never know what opportunities can come your way if you connect with people. You could also develop friends and people with who you can have interesting conversations together whether it’s a debate on Mayo vs Ketchup or the latest advancements. So send that Linkdeln Connection, send that email. If you just can’t try anymore after reaching out to 500 people, the 501st might respond. Hustle.
